So after finishing your design and having it published on the streetcanvas.com web site, you move to the very important part of getting people to vote for your design.

As you know, the streetcanvas winners are chosen based on the number of votes given to a design. So in order to win, you need to get as many votes as possible. To help you do that, streetcanvas has created many tools to help you promote your work. The following are some examples of things you should consider doing to enhance your chances of winning a competition, either on an on-going one or a special one.
As you will notice, below your published design there are many website-sharing buttons that can facilitate your promotion. You should use them to promote yourself as much as possible.

 Some steps you should consider

1.       1. Send an email out to your friends – You can either use our built in tool which helps you import your contact list and send out an email or simply use your email interface. Our tool allows you to control both the title and contents of the email. It will also automatically add the design to the email. If you chose, you can also send an email using your regular email. If you do, don’t forget to add a link to your design page (we also recommend adding the image of your design.)

2.       2. Post a message on twitter – We have a tool to allow you to post a message on your twitter. When you click the twitter icon under your design, it will bring you to your twitter page (if you are not logged in it will ask you to do so). In the twitter page you will have the URL link embedded in your message window. All you need to do is add some text next to it such as “Please vote for my design”.

3.       3. Post a message on Facebook – Another great tool to share your work on Facebook. The advantage here is that your design will be embedded in the message and you have more space to describe what you want people to do. For example you can write “Please vote for my design in streetcanvas.com. I am competing against other designers for the opportunity to have my design become a t-shirt sold all over the world!!!”

4.       4. Use the other posting tools – We have placed other posting tools for you including some social bookmarking site links. One we recommend strongly using is Hatena.

5.       5. Tell your friends face to face – Finally, one of the best ways to promote your work is to ask your friends when you meet them face to face, to log into streetcanvas.com and vote for your design.

We hope these recommendations have been helpful to you.

Good luck with your submission

The streetcanvas.com team
